Kyle Elmore entered the Louisville real estate market in 2015 and quickly spotted a gap. The industry, he felt, often treated clients like transactions rather than neighbors. After spending a few years learning the business, he launched White Picket Real Estate in 2020. His goal was straightforward: build a locally founded, independent brokerage that put relationships and community involvement ahead of sales volume.
Elmore wanted to create something different from the big national chains. He believed a Louisville-based firm could offer the same high-tech tools and market expertise while keeping a personal touch. "When I founded White Picket, I saw an opportunity to create a brokerage that combined high standards with a genuine focus on the people we serve," Elmore said.
The brokerage's name reflects that vision. It evokes the classic image of a family home, but the real focus is on the neighborhood around it. Elmore and his team prioritize local partnerships, sponsor community events, and make a point of knowing the streets and schools they represent. For them, selling a house is just one part of a larger commitment to the city's growth.
Since opening, White Picket has grown steadily, attracting agents who share that community-first mindset. The firm now handles residential sales across the Louisville area, from historic Highlands homes to new developments in the East End. Elmore credits the team's success to staying true to that original idea: real estate is about people, not just property.
