Cozen O'Connor has strengthened its real estate practice in South Florida by bringing on a new partner with a blend of private practice and in-house experience. The firm announced the addition on Tuesday, signaling continued investment in one of the region's most active property markets.
The new partner joins Cozen O'Connor after serving in a legal role at AmTrust, where the attorney handled a range of real estate matters tied to the insurance and financial services company's property holdings. That in-house background gives the lawyer a practical view of how corporate clients approach acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development deals.
Before moving in-house, the attorney built a private practice focused on commercial real estate transactions. The combination of law firm and corporate experience is increasingly valuable as clients seek counsel who understand both the legal details and the business pressures behind every deal.
Cozen O'Connor's South Florida offices have grown steadily in recent years, reflecting broader demand for real estate legal work across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The region's commercial market has remained busy despite higher interest rates, with office, industrial, and multifamily projects drawing attention from local and out-of-state investors.
The firm said the new partner will work with existing real estate attorneys on transactions, leasing, and development matters. Leadership described the hire as part of a larger effort to deepen the bench in Florida and serve clients who need local knowledge paired with national resources.
The addition takes effect immediately, according to the firm's announcement.
